Educational Shows of My Childhood

I miss those cool educational shows I use to watch as a kid. Shows such as Square One, Newton's Apple and 3-2-1 Contact. These were at least shows that had some educational, as well as fun aspects to them. (below are the openings to these shows)

Now a days, educational shows seem to dumb down everything to the point of being nauseous. They make it seem as kids today are idiots that need everything explained to them slowly. Give me a break, children are a lot smarter then they are given credit for.

Another things that pisses me off about the educational shows of today is that they have gone all Politically Correct. An example of which being Sesame Street. What the hell man! Cookie Monster isn't allowed to eat cookies all the time any more. Ernie lives by himself basically because Bert is on permanent vacation.

And why have these changes been made? Well I think its because parents got all bent out of shape that a muppet ate nothing but cookies which didn't portray a healthy image to their children. Well jesus christ, people its the parents job to make sure their children eat right. If you are letting television teach your children how to eat then you shouldn't have any. I also believe that parents thought Bert and Ernie living together portrayed a "gay living situation". I'm sorry but they should be more concerned with Bert's "bird fetish", then wether or not him and Ernie were "partners".

Another thing that makes me made about how politically correct children shows have become is that I have personally seen a disclaimer on a Sesame Street dvd all because Cookie Monster was smoking a bubble pipe. Yes, that's right. He was blowing on a staple of many people's childhoods. A pipe you put bubble liquid in and makes bubbles with. Oh my god that will corrupt children, the government will fall and anarchy will sweep across the world.
